Kingston will maintain its 11.5 percent share of sales tax revenue under a new five-year agreement approved by the Ulster County Legislature. County Executive Jen Metzger and Kingston Mayor Steve Noble negotiated the deal, which replaces the previous agreement set to expire on February 28, 2026. The Kingston Common Council approved the agreement on February 3, 2026.
The approved agreement also increases the distribution of sales tax revenue to Ulster County towns from three percent to 3.5 percen
